New SEA-EU offer for UG students and staff
It’s Here! The Latest SEA-EU Newsletter Full of Opportunities for the UG Community!
A photography contest, workshops on grants for young researchers, or a summer school beyond the Arctic Circle? The latest SEA-EU newsletter presents exceptional initiatives for various groups within the UG academic community. Students, academic staff, and administrative employees are invited to explore the diverse opportunities available.
The newsletter was also distributed via central mailing among students and employees of the University of Gdańsk.
New offer includes a plethora of attractive events:
- for students;
- over 150 researchers from across Europe will gather for the ZORH Conference, focusing on ecology and sustainable production; April 9th to 11th 2025, in Split;
- participants can apply to present their research through oral presentations or poster sessions; there are 12 thematic categories to choose from, including marine and ocean pollution, and new technologies in environmental protection;
- thanks to additional funding, five UG students whose abstracts are accepted may receive financial support to cover travel and participation costs;
- registration is open until March 3rd, 2025.
- for students;
- the summer school (June 30th - July 4th) organized by NORD University in Bodø, Norway;
- 4 intensive thematic courses: 1) Experiences of Nature Adventure, 2) Sustainable Blue Growth in the High North, 3) Sustainable Tourism Development in (Arctic) Coastal Communities, 4) Introduction to Zooplankton Biodiversity and Ecology;
- each UG student can apply for 1 course within the Nord Summer School 2025; the best applications meeting all formal requirements will receive funding;
- registration is open until March 5, 2025.
- for administrative staff; designated for those who regularly interact with international students, employees, and guests or participate in international events;
- participants will develop their knowledge of terminology related to administrative work, customer service, and business correspondence;
- offered both online and on-site at the UG campus;
- registration is open until March 4, 2025.
- for the entire UG academic community;
- the 4th edition of the SEA-EU photography contest open for all 9 SEA-EU partner universities;
- this year’s theme is cultural traditions; all works will be presented at an international exhibition at Kiel University in June 2025;
- the winner will receive a travel voucher worth €800;
- submissions are accepted online until April 17, 2025.
- for researchers, aimed at postdoctoral researchers from various scientific fields looking to advance their careers through international research projects; mentors interested in hosting young researchers for internships are also welcome to participate;
- full-day workshop on Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships, where participants may learn about career opportunities at SEA-EU alliance and secure prestigious research fellowships in Europe and beyond;
- the event will take place online on March 7th.
Ongoing Opportunities Available Year-Round!
- for the entire UG academic community;
- tandem sessions involving two participants who exchange their knowledge of languages they speak fluently;
- participants independently determine the frequency and format of their sessions, the scope of materials, and learning methods;
- enrollment is open year-round.
- for master's students;
- international internship opportunities at one of the nine coastal SEA-EU partner universities: conducting research at foreign universities, improving language skills, or investing in academic and professional development;
- the minimum duration of the internship is 60 days;
- there are currently over 100 available placements across various disciplines;
- all mobility programs for UG students are funded by Erasmus+;
- internships must be completed during the 2024/2025 academic year.
